Kim Phillips, AIA | Architect / President

Kim Phillips, AIA, is President and senior architect of Phillips Sekanick Architects and has helped guide the firm’s growth from a longstanding Northeast Ohio practice into a firm with significant regional and national experience. His architectural work spans commercial, retail, restaurant, hospitality, institutional, and renovation projects, with particular expertise in food-service and prototype restaurant design. Kim played a central role in expanding the firm’s portfolio of quick-service and fast-casual restaurants, establishing relationships that have resulted in hundreds of projects for national and regional operators. His extensive experience in design, project planning, client coordination, and construction provides clients with practical solutions grounded in a thorough understanding of building performance, operations, and long-term value.

Bruce Sekanick, FAIA, NCARB | Architect / Principal

Bruce Sekanick, FAIA, NCARB, brings more than four decades of experience in architecture, firm leadership, building codes, project delivery, and professional practice. His work at Phillips Sekanick Architects encompasses commercial, institutional, public, educational, hospitality, workplace, and adaptive-reuse projects throughout Ohio and beyond. A former Master Plans Examiner, Bruce brings particular expertise in building-code analysis, regulatory coordination, project planning, and construction administration. His leadership extends nationally through the American Institute of Architects, where he has served as AIA Institute Secretary, member of the national Board of Directors and Strategic Council, and in numerous advocacy and professional-practice roles. He was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in 2017 and received the AIA Ohio Gold Medal in 2018.

Chad Ramkey, AIA, NCARB | Architect

Chad Ramkey, AIA, NCARB, combines architectural design and project-management experience with a strong understanding of building technology, BIM, digital documentation, and contemporary project-delivery practices. A graduate of Kent State University’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Chad works across a range of commercial, restaurant, institutional, and public projects for Phillips Sekanick Architects. He has also been active in advancing technology within the profession, including providing Revit education for architecture students and emerging professionals and participating in statewide discussions concerning BIM standards and digital facility information. Chad is a past President of AIA Youngstown and remains actively engaged in the architectural profession, bringing a practical, technically focused approach to the design and documentation of projects.

Stephanie Holko, AIA | Architect

Stephanie Holko, AIA, is an architect  with Phillips Sekanick Architects, where she combines architectural design, project coordination, and digital-modeling expertise to advance projects from initial concepts through construction. Her experience includes commercial, public, institutional, hospitality, adaptive-reuse, and renovation work, with particular strengths in building information modeling, design documentation, project coordination, and the development of efficient, buildable solutions. Stephanie earned architectural degrees from the Savannah College of Art and Design and has been with Phillips Sekanick Architects since 2012. She is a past President of AIA Youngstown and currently serves on the chapter’s Board of Directors, reflecting a continuing commitment to professional leadership, continuing education, and the advancement of architecture within Northeast Ohio.

Gianna Ignazio, NCIDQ, Assoc. AIA, IIDA | Interior Designer

Gianna Ignazio, NCIDQ, Assoc. AIA, IIDA, brings an interior-design perspective to the integrated architectural practice of Phillips Sekanick Architects. A graduate of Kent State University’s Interior Design program, Gianna contributes to space planning, interior design, finish and material selection, furniture and fixture coordination, and the development of branded commercial environments. Her work supports the firm’s restaurant, hospitality, commercial, and workplace projects, where interior planning and architectural design must function as a cohesive whole. Gianna has also represented Phillips Sekanick Architects through municipal design-review processes, providing experience in coordinating design intent with owners, regulatory agencies, and project requirements. Her NCIDQ certification reinforces the firm’s commitment to qualified, professional interior-design services as an integral part of the overall project team.
