Trumbull Country Club Clubhouse Renovation

Trumbull Country Club, Golf Drive, Warren, Ohio | Design-Bid-Build, Renovation and Alterations | Hospitality, Clubhouse Architecture | $3.5M, 2026

Located at 600 Golf Drive NE in Warren, Ohio, the Trumbull Country Club clubhouse renovation, designed by Phillips Sekanick Architects, renewed one of the Mahoning Valley’s longstanding private clubs for a new generation of members. Founded in 1915, Trumbull Country Club completed more than $3.5 million in club-wide renovations and improvements in 2026, creating a contemporary hospitality environment while respecting the character and history of the existing clubhouse.

Phillips Sekanick Architects renovated both upper- and lower-level spaces, including the dining areas and kitchen, expanded bar seating, women’s locker room, fitness areas, and a new golf swing lab for year-round practice. The project also upgraded HVAC, lighting, and electrical systems. In the dining area, existing brick concealed within columns was exposed and incorporated into the new design, creating a direct connection between the renovated interiors and the building’s history.

The improvements were designed to enhance member experience, dining and hospitality, recreation, building performance, and daily club operations. General Manager Cory Pagliarini said, “We transformed every square inch of the clubhouse, top to bottom,” and later described the renewed club as “the total package.”

The project also continues a unique relationship between Kim Phillips, AIA, Phillips Sekanick Architects, and Trumbull Country Club. Phillips has been a member for approximately 45 years, and his father served as architect for an earlier clubhouse renovation.

The completed project demonstrates Phillips Sekanick Architects’ experience in country club architecture, hospitality design, clubhouse renovation, restaurant and dining design, recreational facilities, interior renovation, and modernization of existing buildings. By combining contemporary amenities and upgraded systems with elements of the clubhouse’s history, the design strengthens an important Warren institution while creating a more functional and welcoming environment for members and guests.
