Phillips|Sekanick Architects provided architectural design services for Rosetta Bakery at The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Florida, working in association with Italian architects to bring the international bakery brand’s authentic Italian identity to one of Central Florida’s premier retail destinations. The collaboration paired Rosetta Bakery’s established European-inspired design character with Phillips|Sekanick’s experience in restaurant architecture, food-service design, branded retail environments, and multi-state project delivery.
Founded by four friends from Milan, Rosetta Bakery was created to bring the tradition and everyday experience of an Italian neighborhood bakery to the United States. The company describes its concept as an “ambassador of Italian baking,” with breads, focaccia, pastries, sandwiches, desserts and espresso prepared using traditional techniques and ingredients sourced from Italy.
The Orlando location translates that brand experience into a highly visible shopping-center environment. A central element of the Rosetta concept is its open-production “live menu”, where products are continuously prepared and baked and guests can see the bakery operation through glass. This transparency turns food preparation into part of the customer experience while reinforcing the brand’s emphasis on freshness, craftsmanship and authenticity.
Working with the Italian design team, Phillips|Sekanick Architects helped adapt the Rosetta Bakery concept to the requirements of The Mall at Millenia location, coordinating the architectural and food-service elements necessary to create a functional U.S. bakery and café while maintaining the visual character of the Italian brand. The resulting environment combines food display, customer circulation, seating, bakery production and café service within a contemporary hospitality setting.
The project also demonstrates Phillips|Sekanick Architects’ ability to collaborate with international designers, restaurant operators and branded concepts, translating established design standards into buildable projects in the United States. That capability complements the firm's experience with hundreds of restaurant and hospitality projects throughout Ohio and multiple states.
