peter allen inn event pavilion
Located on the historic Peter Allen Inn estate in Kinsman, Ohio, the event pavilion designed by Phillips Sekanick Architects expanded one of Northeast Ohio’s distinctive hospitality destinations with a flexible setting for weddings, receptions, banquets, and private events. Responding to growing demand for larger event accommodations, the design was developed to complement the character and elegance of the historic property while providing the contemporary amenities and operational support required for large gatherings.
The resulting three-season event pavilion creates an open connection between guests and the landscaped Peter Allen estate while providing protection from changing weather conditions. Designed to accommodate approximately 250 guests, the event facility incorporates covered gathering and reception areas, a fully appointed bridal suite, modern restrooms, and dedicated back-of-house and service spaces. Careful planning by Phillips Sekanick Architects allowed guest areas and event-support functions to work efficiently together without sacrificing the refined atmosphere associated with the Inn.
The quality of the event environment has been recognized by those who have celebrated there. One wedding client described the Grand Canopy as “absolutely stunning,” noting that the venue successfully provided the unique indoor/outdoor experience they had been seeking. Another visitor called the wedding setting “very nicely done” and praised both the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The Peter Allen Inn event pavilion demonstrates Phillips Sekanick Architects’ experience in hospitality architecture, wedding and event venue design, commercial planning, and context-sensitive additions to historic properties. By combining flexible event space, efficient support facilities, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape, the project expanded the capabilities of the Peter Allen Inn while respecting the historic character that makes the Kinsman property unique.
