This first-of-its-kind prototype with new interior and exterior aesthetics, Panera Bread Boardman was developed to create a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere that was open and inviting along with an outdoor seating area and a drive-thru. Located in an active retail corridor, the building parcel posed challenges: small size, sloped topography, and stormwater management challenges. Input from Panera corporate headquarters, the franchisee, and Phillips Sekanick Architects was necessary to reach a final design solution. Through efficient use of the site and maximizing the interior space, the design was successful in providing a new look and an inviting atmosphere.
