Lewis Construction, Howland Township, Ohio | Corporate Offices, Alterations & Improvements | Design-Bid-Build | 2019
Located at 8031 East Market Street in Warren, Ohio, the Lewis Construction headquarters underwent a comprehensive exterior and interior renovation designed by Phillips Sekanick Architects. In 2019, the longtime collaborators reimagined the existing office facility to create a more contemporary corporate identity and workplace for Lewis Construction, a Northeast Ohio restoration, reconstruction, and commercial remodeling company whose Warren facility serves as its headquarters and central operations center.
A primary focus of the renovation was replacing the deteriorated diagonal wood façade while retaining a visual connection to its original character. Phillips Sekanick Architects developed a distinctive composition of vertical and horizontal metal panels, using changes in orientation, depth, and texture to create dimension and visual interest. Contrasting finishes at the windows, architectural sunscreens, and siding further transformed the exterior into a contemporary corporate headquarters.
Inside, Phillips Sekanick Architects modernized the workplace while building on the existing open-office environment and abundant natural light. A refreshed palette of cool grays, earth tones, and accent colors creates a professional yet welcoming atmosphere, while generous glazing brings daylight deep into the workspace.
The completed renovation demonstrates Phillips Sekanick Architects’ experience in corporate office architecture, commercial renovation, workplace design, exterior façade modernization, metal-panel design, and adaptive reuse, creating a forward-looking workplace and identity for a longstanding Northeast Ohio company.
