Located at 3900 East Market Street at a major gateway into Warren, Ohio, the Covelli Enterprises headquarters demonstrates how strategic renovation and expansion can transform an existing building into a distinctive corporate workplace. Phillips Sekanick Architects has worked with Covelli Enterprises through multiple phases of the building’s evolution, beginning with the conversion and expansion of the original two-story masonry structure and continuing through two major renovations that ultimately expanded the headquarters to more than 39,000 square feet. The facility supports the executive, administrative, and operational functions of Covelli Enterprises, one of the nation’s largest restaurant franchise organizations and the largest Panera Bread franchisee.

The most recent $8.5 million corporate office renovation, designed by Phillips Sekanick Architects, substantially transformed both the exterior identity and interior workplace environment. A contemporary façade gives the headquarters a stronger presence along East Market Street, while a relocated main entrance improves visibility, accessibility, and arrival. Inside, the design integrates private offices and collaborative work areas around a dramatic three-story atrium, creating a central architectural feature that visually connects the building’s three levels. Additional amenities include a fully equipped employee fitness center and dedicated facilities-management spaces.

The transformation is evident to those who use the building. One employee described the headquarters as a “very modern, newly renovated office space,” providing an independent perspective on the character of the completed workplace. Throughout the project, Phillips Sekanick Architects provided corporate office architecture, workplace planning, renovation design, expansion coordination, and construction administration, carefully sequencing the work around continued occupancy and integrating new construction with the existing facility.
