Phillips Sekanick Architects designed the Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop serving the Niles and Trumbull County, Ohio market, expanding the firm’s portfolio of restaurant, food-service and branded commercial projects throughout Northeast Ohio.
Located at 2484 Niles-Cortland Road SE near the Eastwood Mall area, the restaurant opened in April 2025 as Capriotti’s second Mahoning Valley location. The nationally recognized fast-casual sandwich brand is known for hand-crafted cheesesteaks, slow-roasted turkey sandwiches and its signature Bobbie®. Capriotti’s corporate materials identify the Niles restaurant as part of the company’s continued national expansion.
Phillips Sekanick Architects developed the architectural design for the restaurant, integrating Capriotti’s established brand identity, customer-service requirements and food-service operations into a location tailored to the Northeast Ohio market. Restaurant projects of this type require coordinated planning of customer circulation, ordering and service areas, dining spaces, food preparation and support functions, equipment, utilities and branded finishes.
The Niles Capriotti’s is locally owned and operated by Amber Walley and her family, who also operate the Capriotti’s location in Canfield. The Niles opening represented continued investment in the Mahoning Valley and Trumbull County restaurant market. Walley was recognized as the 2024 International Franchise Association Franchisee of the Year.
The restaurant provides dine-in and takeout service along with online ordering, order-ahead pickup, delivery and catering.
For Phillips Sekanick Architects, Capriotti’s Niles demonstrates the firm’s experience in restaurant architecture, fast-casual and quick-service restaurant design, food-service planning, branded commercial interiors and franchise prototype implementation. The project adds another national restaurant brand to PSA’s extensive food-service portfolio while strengthening the firm’s restaurant design presence in Warren, Niles, Trumbull County, the Youngstown-Warren region and Northeast Ohio.
