Akron Children’s Pediatrics at Warren G. Harding

Located within the Warren G. Harding Student Recreation and Wellness Center at 860 Elm Road NE in Warren, Ohio, Akron Children’s Pediatrics at Warren G. Harding High School brings comprehensive pediatric primary care into an educational and wellness environment designed by Phillips Sekanick Architects. The project extends the vision of the $34 million Warren City Schools Wellness Center by integrating healthcare with education, athletics, recreation, STEM programs, and student wellness.

Phillips Sekanick Architects designed the pediatric healthcare space to support a contemporary primary-care practice while integrating it within the larger Wellness Center. The facility supports well-child visits, sports physicals, immunizations, treatment of illnesses and injuries, and ongoing pediatric care, while connecting patients with Akron Children’s broader specialist and behavioral-health resources.

The location opened in June 2025, when Akron Children’s relocated its Warren Downtown pediatrics practice to the Warren G. Harding campus. The move strengthened a partnership between Akron Children’s and Warren City Schools that began in 2016. Akron Children’s Vice President Paul Olivier described the completed Wellness Center as “a beautiful facility,” while Brian Dinger of the Akron Children’s primary care network said the new location “meets families where they are.”

The practice serves not only students but also children and families throughout Warren and Trumbull County, improving access to pediatric healthcare within a convenient community setting.

The project demonstrates Phillips Sekanick Architects’ experience in healthcare architecture, pediatric medical office design, educational facilities, wellness environments, interior build-outs, and the integration of healthcare within school and community settings.
