Intro

Verizon Wireless Tenant Shell Building

Designed as part of an outparcel infill project in Boardman, Ohio, this retail building was developed to provide a high visibility structure that not only enhanced the existing plaza but was also in context with the surrounding buildings through the selection of colors, textures and finish materials.

Challenge

This project was designed as a single-user tenant building that even though it was being constructed for a specific tenant could be utilized by a wide variety of future tenant types.  The building also needed to fit in the context of a larger commercial development plan.

Solution

Phillips|Sekanick Architects was able to create a retail structure with a prominent entry feature and large open areas for product display which were key requests of the new tenant.  The exterior material selections for the building utilize the same materials and earth-tone color scheme as the adjacent plaza to maintain the contextual integrity. To create a fresh, complementary appearance unique entrance canopies and banding accents were added.
