Challenge
The Owners of Lyra Salon had a vision for a high-end beauty salon with a playful, modern vibe. Their vision included 9 styling stations, 3 shampoo stations, 3 hair drying stations and 2 private rooms for waxing, threading and lash extensions. All of this needed to fit into a 1,244 square foot lease space with room for a waiting area, restroom and necessary storage.
Solution
The design team at Phillips|Sekanick Architects, inc. worked closely with the Owners to carefully layout the styling pods using the precise measurements of each workstation in order to deliver the requested number of styling stations. By using sliding doors at the private treatment rooms and the storage commissary valuable space was preserved for each room’s primary function. The design team also incorporated the specialty finishes requested by the Owner such as an open ceiling, marbled floor tile and modern waiting area chandelier.
